A floral Fox & Chave silk habotai scarf with a design that represents a historical fusion of Ottoman Turkish aesthetics and Indian craftsmanship,
Evoking the style of 16th-century Iznik pottery, this classic palette features cobalt blue, turquoise, and bole red on a white ground. The central floral motifs display the Ottoman Trinity; serrated red carnations representing power and elongated tulips symbolising the divine.
These botanicals are elegantly framed by dramatic blue Saz leaf scrolls; feathery, serrated motifs derived from Persian and Ottoman court art. While the imagery is Turkish, the layout reflects the tradition of Indian textile masters who adapted these ceramic patterns into chintz fabrics for European export, creating a sophisticated blend of architectural geometry and floral beauty.
