This pattern showcases a Mughal-inspired floral ogival pattern, a design born from the 17th-century fusion of Persian Safavid geometry and Indian naturalism. The structure relies on a pointed lattice, often called a trellis, which frames central botanical buta motifs. These stylised flowers, likely poppies or carnations, are rendered in a classic palette of indigo blue and madder red.

The serrated edges of the blue ribbons suggest the Saz leaf influence, common in Ottoman and Persian art. This specific aesthetic was highly influential during the 19th-century Arts and Crafts movement, as designers like William Morris sought to replicate the rhythmic balance and organic sophistication of these traditional Eastern block-printed silks.
