A colourful Fox & Chave silk tie featuring details from the work Ophelia among the Flowers (1905-08) by Odilon Redon (1840-1916)
The work is a dreamlike, symbolist interpretation of Shakespeare’s tragic heroine. Surrounded by lush, otherworldly blossoms, Ophelia appears serene yet ghostly, suspended in a liminal space between life and death. Redon’s use of soft pastels and fantastical floral imagery transforms the scene into a poetic meditation on beauty, madness, and mortality, diverging from literal representation to evoke emotional and spiritual resonance.
