This elegant Fox & Chave chiffon silk scarf is inspired by two different Suzani embroideries from Uzbekistan c.1900.
Suzani is a type of embroidered textile originating from Central Asia, particularly Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan. These stunning textiles feature intricate and colourful needlework, often forming elaborate floral and geometric patterns. Suzanis have deep cultural roots, serving both as decorative pieces and dowry items, symbolizing a woman's skill and devotion. Crafted by hand, they employ silk or cotton threads on a cotton or silk fabric base and are used as wall hangings, bedcovers, or decorative throws, adding charm and storytelling to interior design while preserving centuries-old craftsmanship and the rich cultural heritage of the region.
