A fine Fox & Chave chiffon silk scarf featuring various floral elements taken from an Album Amicorum, a book form that emerged in the Reformation period in 16th century Europe.
An album amicorum, also known as a "friendship book" or "album of friends," is a personal book typically kept by students, especially during the Renaissance and early modern period, in which they collected inscriptions, poems, drawings, and other memorabilia from friends, acquaintances, and notable individuals they met.
The content of an album amicorum often includes Personal messages, well-wishes, and signatures, poems, drawings and paintings, heraldic symbols and family crests. Quotations and memorabilia like dried flowers, small prints, or other keepsakes.
